John & Jannette's wedding

Jannette, one of my dearest and closest friends, just got married to her best friend...

...and I only have ten pictures to show for it?

Worse, I didn't even have one taken with the couple!

Oh well. The most important thing was my presence in the wedding and the happy memories that went along with it.

I'm linking Bespren Gina's page for more wedding pictures:

My last Singapore super supper

View all 19 photos...
With a little prodding, Ate gave in to my request to dine out for the last time, i.e., before I return to Lupang Hinirang.

Feeling a little nostalgic, I asked to be photograped within the compound where I stayed for close to a year.

So totally miserable by the end of the night, owing to separation depression - it was not just anxiety, I think - at the prospect of not seeing meg and bianchi for a looong time, I kept on taking their pictures. If only I could stuff Bianchi in a box....

But all things considered, my Singapore experience was one helluva great ride.

Royce and Dyra dropped by the house before going back to the Philippines. They just ended a three-country marathon trip.

Hmm..pinangatawanan ko na naman pagiging photographer, nawala tuloy ako sa picture.

Day 4 - Last hurrah at Sentosa and Attica

Who would have thought that two people could have so much fun?

First stop: Sentosa
We had our backs and chest tattooed just for the heck of it. Yung may glitters (read: washable and temporary). Medyo dyahe lang kasi the hockey peeps appeared from out of nowhere right in the middle of the session. Oh well.

Next stop: Clark Quay and Attica

We were invited by the hockey peeps to be with them over at Clark Quay. Of course, we had to upgrade our looks. So we went home and changed from our sporty outfits into something funkier.

Over at Clark Quay, we discovered that there is such a thing as reverse bungee where people are literally thrown skyward. It is said that it's like being propelled upwards by a rocket. No kidding. Next time I visit the place, I'd make sure I try it.

After a while, we headed to Attica. I was planning on taking Gina to Zouk but these hockey guys were very persistent in convincing us to join them. So we did. In the end, it was good that we did. We begged off at around 3am. Gina had to catch the plane at 7am!

Day 3 - Fun, fun day! :)

Of course, I was absent from work. Thank heavens no one from the office gave me a call habang naglalakwatsa kami ni Gina.

I believe it was during this time where I taught Gina how to read a book or sleep (yes, sleep!) standing up while the MRT ran its course.

Where we went:

Jurong Bird Park
Singapore Zoo
Queenstown gym to watch underwater hockey - met some very interesting peeps
Dinner in one of the fine restos at Chijmes - thumbs up for lamb chops!

Day 2 - Not a totally blah day

ako..
...at ako pa din. :-P
Now, why did I end up with a couple of pictures of myself?

I left Gina to fend for herself while I clocked in some office work. She took well to instructions and directions, so I thought she would feel fine doing Singapore by herself for a while. And she did, thank goodness.

By nighttime, we were off to the famous Jumbo Restaurant. But horrors, the resto was under renovation.

We settled for No Signboard Seafood Restaurant. We had the best-tasting white pepper crab. Super! This is also the place where I tried Tiger Beer, reputed to be Singapore's national drink, for the first time. I say...San Mig Light pa rin!

Gina has more, uh, interesting pics:

Finally, dumating din si bespren Gina!

Baon ang kanyang itinerary, we hit the ground running nung day 1 pa lang. Teka, yung original itinerary pala nya would require super mega bionic strength to cover. Yun lang.
Enough said.

Day 1

Esplanade (yung 2 halves ng durian )
Boat Quay (where mini Merlion is)
Suntec City
- dinner at the Marche (as usual, sarap ng soft-shell crabs and Bundaberg rootbeer!)
- Fountain of Wealth
Oriental Hotel - to drop by JM's suite

Not bad, really, considering that we started touring the city at around 530pm, and, in true Singapore style, we roam the streets by foot.

Fun at the Zouk!

Tatinch & Claire
Tatinch, me & Claire
Ces
It turned out to be one super fun evening.

Tina is in Singapore to attend some company-sponsored conference. Straight from office, I meet her up for dinner. She introduces me to Claire who instantly becomes my friend. (I have this very strong suspicion that she also has this shopaholic streak in her ). Tina keeps on mentioning that we'd be meeting up with Ces after dinner.

It turns out that Ces is a he.

Claire begs off. Ces invites us to eat (again!). So we have a blast eating four-chees pizza (again!!) while downing one bottle of red wine at Que Pasa.

Then Ces leads us to Zouk, reputedly the most happening club in Southeast Asia, if not Asia....and I am in full office regalia.... So I am not exactly wearing THE official business attire, but it would have been a lot more fun if I sorta go with the vibe. Anyway...

Zouk has three clubs - Zouk, Phuture and Velvet Underground (I remember!). WHat can I say but it truly is every clubber's Wonderland.

We drink Smirnoff Vodka with lime, then Absolut Vodka with lime, then Smirnoff Vodka, then...

I have never been soo wasted in a long time.

We break off at around three (or four?) in the morning.

P.S.

No pics at zouk. tacky, tacky. You just gotta be there.
Next time, I'll make sure I dress the part (I wish!)
