i had no expectations. kasi di ko sya kilala.

she was fine, her voice parang kagaya ni carole king (younger, more vibrant version? hehehe). pwede ding sarah maclachlan.
only 18, she composed all the songs in her cd. she also did the piano. neat!
plus, she's so down to earth and really, really kind.
so i like her.

The CompanY at 20

Kapatid ni Meng, mukha bang bagong gising? =)

At the last minute (read: 2 days before the concert), we decided to watch The CompanY’s 20th anniversary concert at the CCP’s Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo.

Should I be surprised that the tickets were almost sold out?
Would we need binoculars, then?

Come this day, we were not allowed to bring our cameras inside the venue. Of course.

I remember seeing and hearing these people: Eugene Villaluz, The Tux, Regine Velazquez, Aiza Seguerra, Erik Santos, Boy Abunda, Ai-ai delas Alas and Jose Mari Chan and the former and new members of the celebrated CompanY . I missed my camera.

But the show was super. It didn't matter that we were at the far end of the theater.
We saw and heard them clearly.

What did I do to remember this wonderful evening by?
A short anthology of our own pictures, of course!

Meeting with the Swiss Miss

so there's such a thing as gourmand chocolate! :)
Lotta! =)
View all 4 photos...
The meeting was long overdue.
And the chocolate which Lotta - my super friend slash SAP expert – promised me.
And the collection of John Donne poems which I – uh, current CV reads bumming expert – promised her.
We ended up dining for close to three hours.

Apologies to the diners who missed their seats.
Understand that this event will repeat God knows only when.

This is THE day for Rhina.

Surely, we will miss you.

Ikaw ang pinagmumulan ng halos lahat ng nakakatawang expression at walang patawad na kakulitan. And, of course, ang walang reklamo mong paghahatid sa buong sambayanan katulong si SR.

Lots of luck to you. We will be seeing each other. Sure yun!

Tawinch's despedida party at Merville

ang masarap na pagkain! =)

We have to thank Tito Pedro & Tita Wilma for coming up with the very yummy spread on the table, all for Tawinch's send-off party. Of course, we should not forget the kaldereta and rellenong bangus which came all the way from Singapore, prepared with lotsa luv by Tawinch's mum.

Although a lot of people were not around, at least Tawinch's close relatives were all accounted for. It was all good.

The happy union was solemnized at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe in Makati City. Two hours and countless pictures after, we motored to Cafe Villa of the Phil Army Officers Club over at the Fort for some serious reunion, dinner and countless picture-taking yet again. Of course!

Thanks Catz, One-Woman Wedding Coordinator, for dragging Vhon & me to the Mandarin to see Rani and "assist" in the pictorials. Bonus: Rani's hair and make-up peeps got to fix ours, too.

Best wishes, Monics & Tawans!

The P1K dress for the wedding challenge

Sarap ng nachos, quesadilla & burritos :-P
All smiles coz success ang dress-hunting :)

I really wondered what we'd get for P1K budget for a nice dress for Rani's wedding?

Pwede pala! Di ba, Tatinch and Vhon?

Yun nga lang, we had to scour Glorietta, Landmark, and Market! Market! before finally seeing THE DRESS at SM Megamall and Edsa Shangri-la Mall.

Kaya naman I couldn't help but take our pics nung matapos ang challenge. We trooped to Taquiera (Shangri-la) kasi parang masarap yung mexican food.

Galing! Nasa budget lahat ng dress!

Le Delice (at Merville)

our main target: schublig sausage w/ potato salad. sarap! :)
delice-ious choco coffee cake :)

View all 7 photos...
I slept at Tawinch's house in Merville (Paranaque) for two days on account of some serious shopping (read: stuff for abroad). Valid? Valid!

Before I went back to my beloved barriotic barrio, Tawinch & Tatinch took me to Le Delice, a quaint little resto tucked somewhere inside the village. The food was good. Coffee was very, very good.

p.s.

It was way too bad I didn't take pictures with Tawinch's Tito & Tita & Donna & Owen & Rona and of:

...adobong manok sa gata with lemongrass & durian (cob, malaysian, kalabasa, native)
...& doggies spike & bogart
...& tatinch's office (over at j&j)
...& yes, SR's 'gasgas' (*&^%$#@ the gutter!)
...etc. etc. etc. etc.

View all 12 photos...
One day was not enough to scour the whole of Greenhills Shopping Center for the stuff we were looking for. We barely covered the ground floor. But then, we also did some things other than shopping, like:

a) late lunch at World Topps
b) mass at the chapel; and
c) coffee at Figaro (bonus: we were seated near Kuh Ledesma)

Needless to say, Greenhills part 2 is coming soon!
